Group Lessons

Whether it’s your first time surfing or you’re trying to get back into it after a few years, taking a lesson with our experienced CPR and first aid certified instructors will help you feel safe and have fun. Sharing the waves is what it’s all about, and we emphasize respect for the ocean and each other.

*All group lessons include equipment, are 1-2 hours long with a 3:1 student to instructor ratio

SPRING / SUMMER Lesson

From mid-March to late October, the swells are on the Sea of Cortez side, which means great waves may be breaking right in front of your hotel. Our spring/summer headquarters are the original Costa Azul Surf Shop overlooking Playa Costa Azul in San Jose

FALL / WINTER Lesson

From mid-November to mid-March, the swells are on the Pacific side of the Baja Peninsula. Our Fall/Winter Surf Lessons begin at the Costa Azul Surf Stand on Los Cerritos Beach, just south of Todos Santos.

Private Lessons

If you're looking to get your first taste of surfing, or if you’re simply trying to get back into it after a few years, the waves can be more than a little intimidating. But don't worry, our team of qualified instructors will help you feel safe and have fun! They love to surf as well and know how much fun it can be to catch your first wave.

Excursions

When it’s time to take your surf dreams on the road, Costa Azul Surf Shop’s 12-passenger air-conditioned van trucks you, your friends and two boards per person wherever you want to go. Explore the East Cape’s secret spots or comb the Pacific for your ideal waves; and don’t leave anyone in your group at home.
